ANDREW NUTMAN – FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

With over a decade of senior management, investment and launching over 50 medical technologies, Andrew brings a wealth of sales, marketing, management and implementation experience to Samson Medical Technologies.
Over many years of close contact with surgeons in theatres and other medical professionals, Andrew has acquired incredible insights and knowledge of the environment, and the difficulties they are facing during procedures. Once he’d teamed up with leading global manufacturers in the field, his creative ideas have come to fruition.

The outstanding industry knowledge, combined with his global network of like-minded innovators in the medical device space have led to the development of solutions that are directly addressing advanced needs of surgeons during procedures. Yet, above of all, Andrew has always focused his efforts on delivering improved patient outcomes and he is constantly driven by the impact Samson technologies have on their lives.

Andrew’s talent to hand-pick the next best technology in various therapeutic areas, his innovative mindset, and his ability to attract and retain experts in various business functions, have led to building a reputable, growing business, trusted by key leaders in different medical specialties.
A man of the highest integrity, Andrew is also a great communicator, who loves sharinghis passion for medical innovations and motivate others to achieve their heights. He is atrue leader who cares deeply about his team and is always available to provide supportand a helping hand.

In his spare time, Andrew loves spending quality time with his family and is a passionate
fisherman.

ERNIE CHAN – HEAD OF SURGICAL/NON-SURGICAL

With over 25 years of experience as a business and marketing executive, Ernie has an extensive background in business and operational management, as well as new product development (NPD) and brand portfolio management. Throughout his career, Ernie’s passion for new technology and innovation has been a key driving force to his development and success. A true believer in delivering exceptional customer experience and added value, Ernie prides himself on placing his customers first, forging many strong business relationships as a result.

 

Some eight years ago, Ernie embarked on a new career path and found a passion for education and training in the medical field - beginning with aesthetic devices and eventually leading to biotech and surgical technologies. Working as the Head of Clinical, Ernie has been the key pillar behind the development of a ‘Knowledge Hub’ in the clinical applications and training programs for Samson Medical Technologies. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Nursing and looks forward to following on to pursue his Masters.

Ernie is a passionate golfer and loves to travel, appreciating all that this world has to offer.

 

MICHAEL-JOHN NUTMAN – GENERAL MANAGER

As the Commercial Operations Manager, MJ is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Samson Medical Technologies business, as well as executing the long-term strategic business initiatives to support our expansive growth. With a background in the IT industry, MJ has held key product management, business management and sales executive positions across several start-up and large global enterprise organisations. As a result of his extensive experience, MJ brings a rich and multifaceted set of skills and practice to the SMT business. He is passionate and focussed on always delivering the best possible outcomes for our customers, partners and suppliers.

Outside of work, MJ enjoys spending time with his partner Heidi and their beautiful sausage dog, Rocket. In his spare time, MJ enjoys all things cycling and is a passionate follower of the Sydney Swans.
