    Silk Fibroin

Silk is one of humanity's oldest known biomaterials.

Silk has a long history in medicine. Ancient civilisations like those in China and Egypt utilised it for wound care sutures.

Silkworm silk comprises of two main proteins: fibroin, which provides structural strength and resilience, and sericin, a natural coating. Advancements in silk science have highlighted fibroin’s versatility, making it a promising material for innovative applications in wound care.
